Preparing for Winter

Yesterday was such a beautiful day with a clear blue sky and warm sunshine making it a day for gardening.

With a poor forecast for today (which proved correct) I set about Stage 1 clearing the garden before the frosts turn everything to a sludgy mush. I have a large garden and it will take a few days to prepare it for the onset of winter.

Today my ‘Subconscious Musing’ recalls dead sunflowers which narrowly avoided the chop because I have seen Blue Tit and Coal Tit picking out the seeds and there are still a few of Natures Bounty left for the little blighters to feast on:

Appropriately, there are some pyrotechnics going on, even if it’s just in my own head!
